After a truck collided into a neighbourhood barbecue outside Rotterdam in the Netherlands, three people died.
Rotterdam police said on their Twitter account that “the cargo truck crashed into a gathering of people while they were having a neighbourhood barbecue.” Several people have died, and many more have been brought to the hospital.
Around 7 o’clock in the evening, a truck off the road in the hamlet of Nieuw-Beijerland, south of Rotterdam, and began to slide down the side of a dike, according to the police, who said they were looking into the incident.
Around 18 kilometres south of Rotterdam, the wounded were taking part in a barbeque at the neighbourhood ice club IJsclub de Kom when a truck went off the road on the congested Zuidzijdsedijk and smashed into the crowd.
The Dutch media stated that further people have been hospitalised for treatment of their injuries.

The motorist is being questioned by police and is reportedly in disbelief. At this point, it is unknown why he drove into the crowd.
