Three days before her arrest, couple have Christmas dinner

Teresa and Paul Hanson seemed to be in the best of spirits as they sat at the Christmas dinner table with other family members.

But three days after what their daughter called “the finest day,” Mr. Hanson, 54, was discovered by authorities dead from a stab wound. Later, his wife was accused of killing him.

Teresa Hanson was remanded in jail yesterday and celebrated her 54th birthday behind bars. The grandmother was accused with killing her husband at their house in West Cowick, an East Yorkshire hamlet close to Snaith, when she appeared at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

She just spoke to affirm her name and birthdate, which is January 1, 1969. She spoke to the court as sobbing family members watched from the public gallery while wearing a grey tracksuit.

The matter needed to be transferred to the crown court, according to the judges, who called it a “difficult scenario for everybody involved.” Tomorrow, Hanson is scheduled to appear in court at Hull Crown.

There was little indication of the catastrophe that would occur three days later when Sherri Hanson, the couple’s daughter, uploaded joyful Christmas Day images on Facebook.

The images showed Hanson and her husband seated at the dinner table with other family members while wearing festive hats. They “had the finest day today with family,” Sherri said.

Was a lovely day, her mother said. It moves too quickly. We had the finest day, Sherri then retorted. I appreciate you for the nicest Christmas meal.

However, the pleasant family scenario was forgotten when the police were summoned to the residence on December 28 at 7:15 p.m. According to Humberside Police, they were informed that “a male had been stabbed.”

After being transported to the hospital, Mr. Hanson passed away soon after, despite the efforts of the emergency personnel to rescue him.

The couple had been married for 34 years and had two children.

It’s thought that Mr. Hanson was a construction worker, and his wife was a hairdresser who had a home-based company selling upscale housewares.

The rural community has been horrified by the tragedy. The spouse appeared like a very kind person, according to a local. He always greeted you with a smile.

I sometimes saw him driving to work in his van as I passed him on the street. They’ve probably been here for a while.

“You don’t expect this at any time of year around here, much alone Christmas when they had just had all the family over,” I thought as the cops came on the door and said they were conducting enquiries.
