Three-day-old youngest quintuplet dies

The terrible death of a three-day-old son of a Polish-British couple who had welcomed quintuplets into their household was disclosed.

The quintuplets were born on Sunday afternoon, just in time for Valentine’s Day, to Dominika Clarke, who was already a mother to seven children, whose ages ranged from 10 months to 12 years.

The mother described the pregnancy as a “miracle,” noting that the likelihood of having quintuplets was one in 52 million.

But on Wednesday, it was made official that Henry James, the fifth child delivered through caesarean section to a family of two boys and three daughters, had died away.

His mother and father, Vincent Clarke, a native of Solihull and a British citizen, both expressed their utter devastation.

Vincent told the Mail, “You’re on a huge high, and suddenly it was like being winded.”

They were all steady, and then we lost Henry. It’s been incredibly difficult. That came as a shock and was so abrupt.

“In our hearts, we bear the hospital absolutely no responsibility.” They made every effort to get him back.

Despite the heartbreaking news, the software engineer did remark that the family will “continue to remain optimistic” and focus their support and efforts on the other 11 children.

It was an extraordinary honor and joy to be selected as Little Henry’s parents, Vincent continued. We relished the opportunity to be with him for as long as we could.

The five infants, who were delivered at the University Hospital in Krakow, Poland, ranged in weight from 25 to 49 ounces.
