This week, Sassa guarantees grant recipients will be paid

The Social Security Agency of South Africa (Sassa) has confirmed that all grant recipients will be paid this week.

The organization stated that the elderly payments will be paid on Tuesday, followed by the disability grants on Wednesday, and that the payment of all other grants will begin on Thursday.

Moabi Pitsi, a spokesperson for Sassa, stated that the agency faced technical issues in November and December that prevented social subsidies from being paid.

These concerns have been resolved. Pitsi stated, “We can confirm to our clients that the old-age grant, the disability grant, and the child support grant will be paid between January 3 and January 5.”

In the meanwhile, all Sassa gold cardholders have been instructed to withdraw their grants at any business that offers cash-back services, including Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Pick & Pay, and Boxer.

In November, Sassa issued apologies to beneficiaries with gold cards who were unable to withdraw funds from post office facilities nationwide.

All Postbank clients intending to make over-the-counter payments, deposits, and withdrawals were impacted as a result of system errors at post office stores.
