Ben Affleck’s meme-worthy remarks during Sunday night’s (Feb. 5) Grammy Awards have been trending on Twitter, and now even The View has commented on the actor’s uninspired demeanor during last night’s performance.
Ana Navarro initiated the discussion about Affleck by stating that her “little Latino heart was bursting with pride” with the performances of Carlos Vives and Bad Bunny at the night. Affleck, who attended the award presentation with his wife Jennifer Lopez, swiftly took control of the Hot Topics portion.
“Before I flip it, I must tell you. “We must discuss Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck,” Navarro remarked.
Despite the fact that Lopez appeared engrossed in every artist and victory speech, Navarro said that the Deep Water star “looked a bit miserable” at the Grammys. She further likened his lifeless gaze whenever the camera panned toward him to her husband’s facial emotions at a Marc Anthony concert.
When Sunny Hostin suggested that J.Lo “should go solo” to the next event, Navarro proposed that she bring her mother Lupe instead.
“Lupe would have cherished it. I don’t know why he wasn’t experiencing it,” Hostin said, before Sara Haines offered, “Perhaps he felt uncomfortable.”
Navarro then interjected, “Perhaps his shoes hurt,” while Hostin speculated, “Perhaps he was hot or something,” and Haines pondered, “Or gassy.”
Ben is not experiencing hot flashes, Navarro told Hostin as he turned to face her.
Aside from Affleck’s obvious sadness, the ladies focused on a lighter aspect of the Grammys by highlighting the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. According to Hostin, she was “sweating profusely” in her living room from “dancing so much” while watching the piece.
In addition, Alyssa Farah Griffin noted the viral video of Lizzo drinking from her flask prior to accepting her Grammy.
Griffin remarked of the award-winning artist, “She’s my girl.”
