The Soweto Derby Carling Cup Semifinals

The Soweto Derby Carling Cup Semifinals

Following the announcement of the teams who will participate in the one-off competition later in the year, Orlando Pirates will open the Carling Black Label Cup against rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

The competition is scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 12 at FNB Stadium in Soweto, with four top-tier teams participating as decided by a public vote.

The final total placed the Buccaneers in the top four, second only to their Soweto rivals, with Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu filling the remaining slots.

The subsequent semifinal draw has produced an intriguing Soweto Derby, with the two passionate rivals poised to compete for a position in the final, which will begin later that day.

It will be a reprise of former versions of the preseason event with the same name, which featured a one-off meeting between the two Soweto Giants, with the match day squads determined by the fans.

Sundowns and AmaZulu square off at 9:30 a.m., followed by a highly anticipated matchup between Pirates and Chiefs at noon. This will be followed by a penalty shootout for third and fourth place before the final kicks off at 17:00.

Tickets for match days are available via Computickets and Ticketmaster shops, and a single ticket grants admission to the whole event.
