The Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing is blocked by Just Stop Oil protesters

In their newest climate stunt, Just Stop Oil protesters have blocked the famed Abbey Road crossing in London by striking the same posture as The Beatles.

The group stated in a statement, “Four Just Stop Oil supporters are blocking Abbey Road in London.” They are demanding that all new oil and gas permits and licenses be halted.

The four left at 1 p.m., crossing the famed Abbey Road zebra crossing made famous by the Abbey Road record cover. After reconstructing the historic crossing, they made the following remark prior to applying glue to the structure.

“Let’s unite as we face broken politics, eye-popping energy bills, and the destruction of our liberties, rights, and democracy. Stand with supporters of Just Stop Oil who are incarcerated, with the 1,700 slain across the global south, with the 33 million uprooted in Pakistan, and with those whom famine is stalking in Africa.

“We can find a solution, but we must cease extracting new oil and gas; burning more will exacerbate our precarious condition.” New oil and gas is a poisonous Truss policy offered by a Prime Minister who ruined the economy in less than 40 days and wanted to enrich the rich while leaving families unable to afford to heat a can of soup.

Imagine if our government aimed to protect us as opposed to damage us. We will not allow disordered politics to ruin our sole home and all that we hold dear, including schools, hospitals, transportation, and the ability to cultivate food. Ordered civil society is at risk.
