During their most recent meeting, a trash-related feud between neighbors turned ugly.
Lakisha Broomfield, a Texan, claims that Sydney Harris ran her over with an SUV on January 4 after she used Harris’ garbage cans.
According to WFAA, the altercation began after Broomfield dumped some of her holiday trash in Harris’ garbage cans.
According to Harris, Broomfield shoved her twice before she entered her vehicle. She then collided with Broomfield’s cans and knocked him to the ground.
“I cannot believe anyone would get into a car and hit someone the way she hit me,” Broomfield said.
Harris maintains she never intended to strike her neighbor, merely the trash cans in Broomfield. The attacker also disclosed that she suffers from a disease that causes mobility concerns.
On January 13, Allen County Police arrested Harris for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
In recent years, the residents’ dispute had worsened, with Harris allegedly stealing her neighbor’s water, throwing rocks at Broomfield’s car, and yelling at her children.
Broomfield asserted, “I am experiencing PTSD, a great deal of anxiety, and numerous panic attacks.” “All I want is peace… mental tranquility and no problems.”
Harris stated that she had no ill will toward her neighbor.
