Teenage girls aged 18 and 19 are killed in two car crash in Hagworthingham, Linconlshire

A two-vehicle horror incident on a country A-road claimed the lives of two adolescent girls.

The women, aged 18 and 19, were involved in a collision on Friday evening on the A158 in Hagworthingham, Linconshire, between a black Peugeot and a black Volvo.

They were treated for their injuries, but both died later, according to authorities.

Their relatives have been notified.

Lincolnshire Police has issued a public appeal for information. ‘We are heartbroken to inform two women have died in a two-vehicle collision on the A158 in Hagworthingham, Spilsby,’ the force said in a statement.

‘The women, aged 18 and 19, were treated for their injuries after the crash involving a black Peugeot and a black Volvo but have sadly passed away.

‘We were called to the collision at just before 7pm yesterday, Friday, 17 June.

‘Other emergency services attended the scene, and the road was closed off into the early hours of Saturday while we dealt with the collision.

‘We are now appealing for anyone who saw the collision or has dash cam footage to come forward.

‘If you witnessed the incident or know anything that might help us in our investigations, please get in touch.’

The news of the girls’ deaths prompted an outpouring of condolences on social media.

‘Awful news, so sad for everyone concerned, particularly the emergency services and their poor families,’ one Facebook user commented. May they rest in peace for all eternity.’

‘Fly high, young women,’ wrote another. We were diverted on our trip to Horncastle and returned home in the early hours of the morning, so we knew it was serious. So depressing.’

‘Oh no, such horrible sad news,’ said another. My sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased. Young girls, may you rest in peace. It was taken far too soon.

Others said they had arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. One wrote: ‘So sad to hear this we had been thinking of this all evening as we didn’t see the accident happen but saw the scene shortly after. Sending so much love to the young lady’s family’s.’

Another added: ‘Was at the scene of this last night just before it happened. Was horrific and I hoped all night that hopefully they would be OK. So sorry you didn’t make it. RIP young ladies.’
