Teen dies after falling from a Florida amusement park ride

According to the owner, a tall amusement ride where a Missouri kid died after falling off it will be demolished as a result of the incident.

The company, Orlando Slingshot, said in a statement that the 14-year-old Tyre Sampson’s death in March of last year was a major factor in the decision to take down the more than 400-foot attraction, which debuted in December in Orlando’s International Drive neighborhood.

Sampson, who hailed from the vicinity of St. Louis, Missouri, died in the autumn while vacationing in Orlando for spring break. The business said that it intended to establish a scholarship in honor of the kid.

“Tyre’s passing has left us saddened. Tyre’s family and the community have expressed their desires, and we have decided to demolish the FreeFall “Ritchie Armstrong, a representative of Orlando Slingshot, stated

Tyre Sampson’s death was judged to be accidental despite an autopsy revealing several shattered bones and internal damage from the fall. It revealed Sampson to be 383 pounds, which is far more than the ride manual’s 287-pound weight restriction.

According to a preliminary investigation by external engineers employed by the Florida Department of Agriculture, sensors on the ride had been manually modified to increase the size of the hole for restraints on two seats, which led to the adolescent not being adequately fastened. A thorough study of the ride’s design and operations was deemed necessary by the report since there were several additional “possible contributors” to the disaster.

The family of Tyre Sampson has filed a lawsuit against the ride’s owner, manufacturer, and landlord, alleging negligence and failure to offer a secure amusement attraction.

The news today is a comfort to Tyre Sampson’s heartbroken father, who has been fighting for it ever since the day Tyre plummeted to his death, according to a statement from Ben Crump and Bob Hilliard, the father’s lawyers.

No timetable was provided for the removal of the ride.
