On Friday, January 20, 2023, the Apel Police arrested two suspects who allegedly perpetrated a business robbery in the Atok village.
Five armed suspects allegedly entered a convenience store in Atok village and robbed the owner of an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspects departed the area in an unmarked silver-gray Volkswagen Polo.
The police were notified promptly, and a tactical operation was initiated in the area.
The suspect’s vehicle was found in the village of Pelangwe, where one suspect was arrested..
The authorities then conducted a search of the mountain, and the second suspect was arrested after a gunfight with the officers.
The suspect was shot and injured over the course of the incident.
He was transported to the hospital while being escorted by police for medical treatment.
After a robbery, a homeowner tracks down and apprehends the suspect.
As police investigations progress, it is possible that the individuals are connected to additional significant and violent crimes.
Soon, the two accused, ages 29 and 41, will stand before the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court.
They will be charged with robbery of a business, attempted murder, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The search continues for the remaining suspects.
