Sunday, Los Angeles police reported that the guy wanted in connection with a mass shooting in Monterey Park, California during the Lunar New Year has reportedly committed suicide.
Sheriff Robert Luna of Los Angeles County stated that officers had trailed a wanted van, and as they approached, they heard a single gunshot from within the van.
“The suspect shot himself in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene,” Luna stated.
The man was identified as Huu Can Tran, 72 years old.
“I can confirm that there are no outstanding suspects in the mass shooting,” Luna said, adding that the motive for the attack, which resulted in the deaths of ten individuals, had not yet been determined.
“The investigation is in progress. “Sheriff’s homicide detectives are working around the clock to gather more information and determine the motive for this incredibly tragic incident,” he said.
