Succession creator and writer criticises Britain’s future monarch

Days after taking the throne, the creator and writer of the popular HBO television series Succession has criticised Britain’s new monarch.

The 51-year-old British recipient of the night’s highest Emmy for Best Drama Series was Jesse Armstrong.

Armstrong then pointedly said that their Emmy victory required “a little more votes” than King Charles’ coronation.

Significant week for Succession. This week, the UK has a new monarch for us. Evidently, we received a few more votes than Prince Charles did, Armstrong said.

“Remain as royalist as possible!

actor Brian Cox then added his two cents.

I’m not saying we’re more righteous in our viewpoint than he is, we’ll leave that to our people,’ Armstrong stated. “We are really glad to receive this, it’s a fantastic honour. This team is exceptional. It is a group effort.

Armstrong accepted the prize for the show’s outstanding writing for a drama series earlier in the evening.

With 25 nominations, the renowned series is ahead of the pack heading into the awards show that night.

On Saturday, King Charles III was formally proclaimed as the ruler of Britain in a pompous ceremony rich in historical precedent and political significance.

When his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away on Thursday, Charles immediately ascended to the throne.

A crucial ceremonial and constitutional stage in presenting the new king to the nation is the accession ceremony.

Since Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne in 1952, the accession ceremony has not taken place.

The Queen Consort, Charles’ wife Camilla, and his oldest son, Prince William, attended the event with him.

Now that Charles no longer holds the throne, William is the heir apparent and is addressed as the Prince of Wales.
