The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced the successful removal of a 55ft (17m) fin whale from Bridlington Beach.
The whale had gotten into difficulties in the sea earlier in the week and died on Tuesday.
The massive mammal became a source of fascination for many tourists, as people travelled for miles to see its carcass.
The council has stated that this operation was the largest of its kind they had ever undertaken.
