Spring training went well for the New-York Yankees on Friday

Jonathan Loaisiga, who is leaving soon for the WBC, showed good form with a pair of strikeouts in the fourth inning. He gave up three hits and a run, but the contact was weak, with at least two of the hits coming off broken bats.

Left-handed reliever Nick Ramirez, who has been impressive early on as a non-roster invitee, had a rough outing, giving up four runs on two hits and two walks in just one inning of work.

One of Luis Severino’s six strikeouts on the day was a result of the pitch clock. With a 2-2 count, Rays first baseman Ben Gamel was not ready by the eight-second mark, resulting in a violation and an automatic strike for strike three.

Severino joked that he will start working on taking advantage of the pitch clock.

Carlos Rodon will make his first start in a Yankees (spring) uniform against the Braves at 1:05 p.m. at CoolToday Park.
