Mets faces Cardinals in spring training

On Sunday, the Mets continued their spring training in Jupiter, Florida, where they faced the Cardinals.

Brett Baty had an impressive performance, leading the team with eight hits in the Grapefruit League, which included a double in the 7-1 win against the Cardinals.

However, Baty’s fielding skills were not as sharp, as he made his third spring error at third base.

Jeff McNeil’s performance caught Buck Showalter’s attention during his final game before the WBC.

McNeil’s hustle beat out a grounder to first base, which Showalter praised. McNeil was timed at 3.9 seconds down the line on the play.

The Mets will take a day off on Monday and return to action on Tuesday to face the Astros in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Mets will have a new-look roster due to WBC departures, and Carlos Carrasco is scheduled to start the game at Ballpark of the Palm Beach at 6:10 p.m.
