South Wales search party looking for Jamie Moreno finds another body in Cardiff

A search party consisting of members of the public looking for clues about the disappearance of Jamie Moreno, who had been missing for three years, found a body in woodland off Circle Way East in Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, on Sunday morning.

Formal identification has not yet been completed, but South Wales Police say that the family of Mr. Moreno, who was 48 years old at the time of his disappearance, is being supported by specialist officers.

Mr. Moreno had left his home in the Roath area of Cardiff on March 23, 2020, and was last seen on CCTV in Llanedeyrn later that afternoon. Last month, his sister spoke to Walesonline about her brother’s disappearance and his struggles following their mother’s death.

South Wales Police confirmed that the body was found in woodland in Pentwyn, Cardiff, and that investigations are ongoing. A community search party discovered the body while searching for Mr. Moreno.

Police were called at 10.42 a.m. on Sunday following the discovery. The family of Mr. Moreno is being supported by specialist officers, but formal identification of the body has not been carried out yet.

On Sunday afternoon, a police cordon was present across a path leading to the woodland near Circle Way East. Four police vehicles were present, and forensics officers were working at the scene.

A collection of floral tributes has started to accumulate near the location. One anonymous resident said they were unaware of the discovery until they saw the police presence.
