South African National Defence Force seized illicit products worth almost four million Rands

For Joint Tactical Headquarters Limpopo, the previous weekend was frantic yet successful. Members of the South African National Defence Force seized illicit products worth almost four million Rands, including cigarettes, alcohol, stolen vehicles, stolen animals, explosives, and so on.

The first confiscation was in the form of livestock, which is unusual on this side of South Africa but common along the border with Lesotho in the Free State Province.

When a boat traveling from Zimbabwe over the Limpopo River into South Africa was detected, our soldiers were busy with Standing Patrol in the Area of Responsibility in Maphungubwe Game Reserve.

The boat, whose captain swam back to Zimbabwe, was confiscated by our soldiers. The SA Police Service Stock Theft Unit estimated 9 sheep to be worth R 8 100.00 and 57 goats to be worth R 68 400.00 on the boat.
