South Africa requests Gupta extradition

South Africa requests Gupta extradition

On Monday, the wheels of justice completed a new revolution.

The Guptas’ official extradition request has been made by South Africa!

The documentation will now be processed by central UAE officials, which might bring Rajesh and Atul Gupta BACK to Mzansi.

The Gupta family is seen as a key player in state capture because it is claimed that they took advantage of their proximity to former president Jacob Zuma to improperly profit by millions from lucrative government contracts.

However, immediately after Zuma’s resignation in 2018, the family left South Africa.

Ronald Lamola, the minister of justice, announced on Friday that the United Arab Emirates’ law enforcement had received a provisional arrest warrant from his department.

Recently, the Gupta brothers were detained in Dubai.

This undoubtedly started the process of their extradition.

Official extradition request for the Gupta brothers submitted

The ANC delegate was able to provide some even better news just a little while ago.

“We can confirm that the Gupta brothers’ extradition request has been made.

Additionally, SA had 60 days to submit it [to the UAE government] at this point.

The central UAE authority received the extradition request today.

It can take several months to complete.

“The two brothers are accused in the Free State’s Nulane case.

January is the tentative trial date for this.

Additionally, they will be subject to judicial processes relating to the Estina Dairy Farm case.

John Lamola:

The TWO instances that could bring the Guptas down are Nulane and Estina.

Nulane Investments was identified by the Zondo Commission as a key Gupta family money laundering front.

They received an R25 million contract from the Free State Department of Agricultural and Rural Development (DARD) ten years ago.

However, there was no open bidding procedure used when this was awarded. In essence, it made it possible for the Gupta brothers to loot the government.

Prime Minister Ace Magashule, who was in office at the time, stated in 2013 that the Gupta-connected company Estina was working with the province government.

This was a covert Free State dairy farm operation.

More than R200 million was allegedly invested in the scheme.

However, just R2 million was allocated to the dairy farm project itself.

The majority of the cash is said to have gone to Gupta bank accounts.

Yes, some of it was utilised in 2013 for the opulent Gupta family wedding at the Sun City resort.
