Kate and William visited flower tributes at Sandringham, Sophie hugged well-wishers in Manchester, and Anne travelled to Glasgow to greet crowds waving the Union flag. The Royal Family spread out throughout the UK today to join a country in grieving its Queen.

The Prince and Princess of Wales chatted with a few of the about 1,000 guests who came to welcome them at the elaborate Norwich Gate, which was decorated with tens of thousands of flowers, cards, and presents.

Since Buckingham Palace announced the Queen’s passing last Thursday, mourners have been flocking to the spot, which is near to the Prince and Princess’s rural estate at Anmer Hall, 24 hours a day.

The remainder of the Royal Family has dispersed around the UK to join the country in grieving their late Queen, but King Charles III has returned to his Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire.

The Countess of Wessex, Sophie, was spotted in Manchester hugging well-wishers as she and Prince Edward observed flower tributes at St Ann’s Square.

They will also light a candle in remembrance of the Queen at Manchester Cathedral and read the civic book of condolence in the city’s main library.

The Princess Royal is meeting with leaders of organisations that the Queen was a patron of when she is in Glasgow City Chambers with her husband, Sir Tim Laurence.
