A ‘disabled’ man began walking and was subsequently arrested at an airport when a sniffer dog alerted authorities to 13 kg of cocaine concealed in his wheelchair.

The dog at Milan’s Malpensa airport was inspecting people and their luggage after a trip from the Dominican Republic — a route previously used by drug traffickers.

After being warned by the dog, cops located nothing in the passenger’s luggage but discovered the drugs by removing the wheelchair’s leather upholstery.

The passenger, a Spaniard who had sought airport police for assistance with his wheelchair, reportedly stood and walked alone before being brought into custody.

The eleven packages of cocaine totaled 13.35 kg and could have yielded 27,000 dosages for £1.2 million.
