Six Licensing Officials are detained by National Traffic Division of the Road Traffic Management Corporation

The National Traffic Division of the Road Traffic Management Corporation detained six licencing officers from the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security, and Liaison.

This morning, Anti-Corruption (NTACU) and the Hawks appeared before the Mpumalanga Magistrates Court.

The six suspects, Agness Nosipho Ndzinisa (42), Thembi Millicent Moslehi (53), Nkosinathi Samuel Gumede (44), Xoliswa Celia Ngcelwane (51), Allman Thabang Masuku (37), and Nompumelelo Winni Nxumalo (35) were detained on suspicion of taking part in a multi-million rand vehicle licence fraud.

Each accused person was granted an R15,000 bond after appearing in court to request it.

The next time they appear in court on September 29, 2022, they’ll likely be charged with 603 counts of fraud, theft, and money laundering.

More arrests are anticipated as NTACU and the Hawks look into the fraudulent reclassification and redetermination of vehicles in order to avoid paying licencing fees and penalties.

The RTMC asks the public to report any suspicions of wrongdoing, bribery, fraud, or corruption by sending a WhatsApp message to 0832937989 or sending an email to ntacu@rtmc.co.za.
