A single mother from Australia named Brooke Withington shared her story of raising five children, one of whom was conceived with the help of a sperm donor.
Her two-year-old daughter, Nora, was conceived through artificial insemination using a sperm donor.
Brooke shared her experience on TikTok, which went viral and attracted hateful comments.
One commenter accused Brooke of being selfish for using a sperm donor, while another claimed taxpayers paid for her decision.
Brooke mentioned that it is illegal to pay someone for their sperm in Australia and found a Facebook group called Sperm Donation Australia, where people donate their sperm out of the goodness of their hearts.
Brooke explained the different options available for artificial insemination, including natural insemination, where the sperm donor has sex with the recipient, and artificial insemination, where the sperm is given in a specimen jar and inserted through a syringe.
Brooke chose the latter and emphasized that donors usually provide STI or STD test results.

Despite receiving negative comments, Brooke is content raising her children on her own, without the need for a partner.
Some viewers expressed support for Brooke’s decision and said that they too have chosen to raise their children alone with the help of a sperm donor.
They agreed that being a solo parent can be peaceful, without the need to worry about dividing weekends or having two sets of rules in the house.
