Showpo CEO apologises for delaying customers in 38 degrees heatwave

One of Australia’s top fashion brands has apologized following complaints from customers who had to wait in long queues outside in the scorching heat during a warehouse sale.

Showpo founder and CEO, Jane Lu, issued the apology on Monday after receiving negative feedback from the sale that took place in Chullora, western Sydney on Saturday and Sunday.

The event coincided with a heatwave in Sydney that saw temperatures reaching 38C. Customers complained of poor management, poor quality of merchandise, and items covered in pen marks.

In her apology video, Lu expressed her regret and promised that future warehouse sales would be better organized. Showpo’s CEO also responded personally to several complaints on social media and reassured customers that they would do better next time.

Despite the criticism, many people commended Lu for her honesty and commitment to improvement. Lu, who left her job at EY in 2010, became an entrepreneur and made a $47 million fortune from Showpo, and her net worth is now estimated to be $53 million.
