Following Cassper Nyovest’s fast and lackluster victory over Priddy Ugly, many have questioned whether the bout should have even taken place.
Saturday’s exhibition boxing battle at the Sun Arena in Pretoria is questioned mostly because of the size disparity between the two participants.
Many social media users were surprised to discover how much smaller Priddy Ugly was in comparison to Nyovest as they entered the arena to compete.
At their press conference two weeks prior to the bout, Priddy Ugly addressed the height and weight disparity between the two and stated that boxers he contacted had informed him that this was a huge mismatch.
Despite this, he stated he had overcome much greater obstacles to reach this point in his career and that the size difference did not worry him.
He was eliminated in the initial round.

On Sunday, Priddy Ugly shared his own opinions about the battle on Twitter and made some insightful observations.
“My conclusions from the battle are as follows: 1. When you enter the ring, your game plan goes out the window, possibly due to the adrenaline rush and ambiance of the arena.
“I never utilized my jab effectively, maintained my distance, or created space between us. I moved inefficiently.”
He continued: “3. Kept way too low and didn’t have my guard up properly – Exposed my defense’s vulnerabilities. I did not pace the fight, perhaps because I was too eager.
“5. Ignore the difference in weight; my opponent had more experience and was better prepared. “It was a resounding triumph, S/O!”
