For the upcoming 2022–23 season, Kaizer Chiefs have unveiled their new, stylish home and away uniforms.

For the past 21 years, Kaizer Chiefs and Nike have both created jerseys that honour, revive, and celebrate the vibrant history and tradition of Amakhosi.

The Home kit for the newest season continues the tradition of being primarily gold in colour and features a contemporary design with the iconic shirt accented by the high vibration frequency black pattern that measures energy, connectivity, and balance.

The nation’s most successful Club will wear a shirt that blends tradition with a look to the future and revival for the 22/23 season after taking inspiration from the design of the South African flag.

The Chiefs’ new home uniform features a striking V-shaped geometric design that is appropriate for the fervent support of the Amakhosi and incorporates themes of peace and victory.

The symbols also stand for Kaizer Chiefs’ soul, which links our past to our present and shapes it while staying rooted in Phefeni, our ancestral home in Soweto.

The Away shirt gives classic Amakhosi designs a modern twist with bright white colour blocking by drawing inspiration from some of the team’s most recognisable uniforms throughout the years. The edges of the sleeves on the pure white jersey are coloured gold. White shorts and socks round out the kit.

According to Jessica Motaung, Marketing and Commercial Director at Kaizer Chiefs, “We continue to work hard to ensure that we produce world-class jerseys for both home and away games for the team.” “With Nike celebrating 50 years, we wanted to commemorate this historic period with two timeless uniforms that can be mentioned in both our and the world’s history books. This is what we did two years ago, when we turned 50.

The replica jersey for the fans as well as the new uniforms for the players are made entirely of recycled polyester fabric from recycled plastic bottles.

“In the modern game, improvements in fabric technology that make clothing feel more comfortable are crucial because they allow players to perform at a high level on the field. We are once more appreciative to Nike for enabling us to provide players with jerseys that meet high standards for innovation, continues Motaung.

The home and away uniforms, as well as training jerseys and tracksuits, are all part of an amazing new collection for Amakhosi.

The Kaizer Chiefs kit for 2022–23 is available for both women and children, as it is for every season.

“We are pleased to see that others have joined us in ensuring that our ladies are not left behind as women’s football is growing since we started producing the female jersey in 2017.

Recognizing the contribution that our female fans make to the team and to football in general is essential.

We’ve always thought it was important to produce a women’s jersey,” says Motaung.

There will also be jerseys available for young fans starting at age 5.

The replica jersey will exactly resemble the one that players will wear on the field thanks to the addition of the Toyota logo on the left sleeve, which was signed as a sleeve sponsor in February of this year.

Both Nike.com and the Kaizer Chiefs online store, kcdigistore.com, will carry the team’s merchandise. Along with significant sporting goods retailers.

Both the away match against Royal AM on August 6 and the home match against Maritzburg United at FNB Stadium on August 9, which is Women’s Day, will feature Amakhosi sporting the new uniforms.
