Seat thief gets ‘extra turbulence’ on plane for her troubles

This week, a man was enraged after he boarded a flight to see a friend and discovered a woman seated in his reserved seat.

According to the man, he was traveling from Florida to California to visit his closest friend and had a ticket for aisle seat 23C, as reported by the Mirror.

Unfortunately, he had not anticipated competition for his preferred seat and was astonished to see a woman in her twenties sitting in it.

Initially, he assumed there was some type of misunderstanding, so he gave her his ticket and explained that she was “probably in the wrong seat.”

Yet, the impolite young lady merely rolled her eyes and conceded that she belonged on seat 24C, the seat directly behind his. Nonetheless, she shown zero interest in shifting to her assigned seat.

Under the moniker u/Smolame on Reddit, the enraged individual recalled: “After a 15-second silence, I ask, “Well?” She states that she is “already comfy,” “not moving,” and “wants to sleep,” etc.

“Alright, I see your point. It’s really foolish to seat someone who is furious with you behind you.”

The man sat at her assigned seat and determined to exact vengeance…

He elaborated: “I continued to create a quiet timer on my phone that would go off every two minutes to remind me to kick her seat forcefully. Every time the seat belt sign went off, I would get up, grip the top of the seat to pull myself up, and pull her seat back and forth.

“She experienced a great deal of ‘turbulence’ and slept not a wink. Several death glares and head turns were observed.

“Each time, I simply smiled and waved. I also anticipated that she would not speak, as she is not meant to be in that seat. Good travels.”

Several individuals weighed in on the issue at hand.

Several praised him for not taking the woman’s impolite behavior lying down.

Others, though, think he should have taken the moral path.

One commentator stated: “Clever move. Better for her to be in your presence than vice versa, and just the appropriate amount of petty retribution.”

Another claimed: “Sorry, but you must contact the flight attendant. They will handle it for you. If she attempts to manipulate you, you can contact the attendant. Best case scenario, if possible, the flight attendant will really upgrade you.”

A third said, “I would have responded, “Oh, since you’re in my seat, I’ll just sit in her lap.”
