The St John’s Ambulance Service of Auckland stated that one injured passenger was transported to the hospital.

Twenty-four additional passengers, all believed to be female students, were treated at the site for minor injuries.

A parent at the scene told Newshub that all of the girls were unharmed.

Holly Gillan, a witness, told stuff.co.nz that the crash sounded like an explosion.

She stated, “It appears the motorist lost control and struck the guardrail.”

On Friday, the bridge was blocked in both directions due to an accident.

Firefighters had to remove a portion of the bridge in order to liberate the bus.

Full of pupils from Ponsonby’s St Mary’s College, the bus comes to a stop perched precariously on the edge of the Newton Road flyover.

Hooks and an inflating mechanism were attached to the bus in order to return it to the road safely.

The New Zealand Police stated that no charges have been filed in relation to the accident, but that an investigation is underway.

A staff member from St. Mary’s College somehow followed the bus in a car and stopped to assist
