Sanctuary Cove, Gold Coast Thai restaurant found “agitated and hostile” corpse

As a ‘very irate and hostile’ guy in his 40s stormed through the doors and later died, diners at an Australian restaurant were left in disbelief.

Several customers at the exclusive Chim Thai Cove restaurant in Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast made an effort to detain the guy because he was apparently ranting and screaming and seemed to be under the influence of narcotics.

As the guy started the disturbance at 7.15 p.m. and then seemed to lose consciousness, Ratana Leighton, the owner of the business, who was behind the bar, claimed there were hundreds of people at the location for the Friday night rush.

She told the ABC that the guy continuously informed the workers that “someone wants to murder me” as he attempted to enter the kitchen.

After calling in disturbances at surrounding venues, police came within minutes.

Officers assisted by a doctor who was a diner at the business started CPR when the victim went unconscious.

Soon after, paramedics came but the guy was not able to be revived.

The man’s cause of death is still unknown.

The Crime and Corruption Commission, under the direction of the Queensland Police Ethical Standards Command, is investigating the event.

Anybody who may have been in the vicinity and has information is asked to get in touch with the police.
