Here’s a notion – quit digging.

Since the beginning of the year 2020, 1,700 individuals have died of drug overdoses in the City by the Bay. This is almost 700 more deaths than the county experienced during the Covid epidemic.

Mayor London Breed said she is now prepared to take the issue seriously by putting an end to open-air drug marketplaces where users and sellers engage in illegal activity without fear of law enforcement.

Because the progressive crazies who rule the city believe that every criminal is a victim, this is the case. Don’t arrest them, they urge; instead, embrace them.

Now, as deaths pile up and people evacuate the city, it appears that they have had enough.

Good. So, what are your plans for cleaning up the city?

They do not possess one.

Unless one has walked through the Tenderloin district of San Francisco of late they cannot fully understand the utter and complete breakdown of society on display (Above) A homeless drug addict injects fentanyl into his arm near City Hall in in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco on September 2, 2022

The resolution titled ‘San Francisco Recovers’ was issued by the city’s board of supervisors.

And here’s the catch, and it’s a doozy: the proposal is being marketed as “a means for no one to go to jail while effectively disrupting the drug market and drug scenes.”

Is this some kind of twisted joke?

The permissiveness of progressives is causing deaths.

In January 2022, homeless individuals in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district used illegal drugs.

The city’s current problem resulted from its failure to enforce the law.

It is reasonable to question whether the sale of highly addictive and crazily potent fentanyl-laced opioids that cause overdoses constitutes outright murder.

However, the sellers of this poison cannot be apprehended.

Certainly, they may be speaking a bit more aggressively today.

The proposal calls for the arrest of drug sellers in “designated drug enforcement priority zones,” but why not arrest ALL drug dealers?

And it gets worse.

As part of the strategy, the municipal government will issue a 90-day challenge to at least 21 local departments and six city commissions.

Here’s a suggestion – arrest drug dealers!

Unless one has just strolled through the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco, it is impossible to comprehend the entire and total breakdown of civilization on exhibit.

I have.

Multiply by ten anything you have seen or read on television or in the news.

I observed utter despair in the eyes of haunted souls as they dragged themselves along the street in search of their next drug.

I observed men and women of all ages hunched over and covered with open wounds on the pavements.

I observed filthy tent communities reeking of human waste and littered with needles and pipes.

I witnessed children staring in fear at individuals dying in front of them.

On broad miles of desolate, dilapidated byways, there is no police presence.

There were hardly any open businesses, lawful commerce, or signs of civilisation.

But rather than allowing law enforcement to resolve the issue, San Francisco is doubling down on pessimism.

The recommendations in this clownish “San Francisco Recovers” effort are so terrible, so out of touch with reality, and so ludicrously absurd that they would be funny if they weren’t so dangerous.

First, there is the concept of building “supervised consumption areas,” which resemble drug markets with lifeguards.

Here, junkies can shoot up safely, if that’s even possible, like a depressing amusement park for the lonesome and broken.

The issue is that they have already attempted this and failed terribly.

In December 2021, a so-called “linkage center” was opened to “link” addicts to substance abuse programs.

Nevertheless, as of April 2020, according to the city’s own data, out of more than 23,000 visits to the linkage center, ‘only 18 people have received medical treatment for substance abuse or have been successfully referred to rehab,’ according to data compiled by a San Francisco organization called Mothers Against Drug Deaths.

Expanding a program of electronic surveillance of addicts so that police can see when they enter a known drug trading location is another excellent suggestion.

One who has not recently strolled through the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco cannot truly comprehend the absolute and complete breakdown of civilization on exhibit (Above)

On September 2, 2022, a homeless drug addict injects fentanyl into his arm near City Hall in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco.

The police are then intended to confiscate their drugs.

It is unclear what the police would do if the user stated, “Actually, officer, I’d prefer keep my narcotics,” given that they cannot be taken to jail.

Other examples of policy brilliance include drug dealer employment training.

Indeed, they wish to urge the merchants of death to get a 9-to-5 job.

Best wishes with that!

Criminal punishments for those who sell hard narcotics for profit will not only clean up the streets but also minimize overdose fatalities.

Instead, Mayor London Breed and the spineless lackeys who have spent the previous several years dragging Frisco into the ground consign their city’s expanding addict population to a slow, stifling death through protracted self-abuse.

San Francisco needs leaders, not facilitators.

It requires a way ahead that allows police to do their jobs, and yes, sometimes that includes locking up drug dealers. It is astonishing that this has become a controversial topic of discussion.

Mayor Breed, enforce the law and restore order before it’s too late, assuming it hasn’t already happened.

First thing to do when you find yourself in a hole is to stop digging.

That is a brilliant idea.
