Monday found BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay “in peril” when Sally Nugent issued a severe warning to her co-host (February 20).
The two sat on the red sofa as they began the week by discussing the breaking news headlines from across the nation.
This prompted Jon, age 53, to disclose that a spectator to an art exhibition unintentionally knocked over a limited edition porcelain balloon dog sculpture by renowned artist Jeff Koons.
The blue sculpture was on exhibit at the London booth of Bel-Air Fine Art when it was accidently shattered, with BBC Breakfast broadcasting photographs of the dog before and after the tragedy.
This inspired the presenter to recall a moment when he misbehaved as a child and accidentally toppled a display.
He told Sally he visited to the Owen Owen department store in Chester, where he and his younger brother “raced around” a display.
“My mother instructed me not to rush around the display. Nevertheless, I did, and I knocked over this entire exhibit of 200 Easter eggs in cups “The newscaster elaborated.
“So it wasn’t simply Easter eggs, but also ceramics!” he exclaimed.
Sally exclaimed in shock, “No!” as Jon quipped, “In danger!”
Sally offered a severe warning to her co-host so as not to repeat previous mistakes.
The 51-year-old screamed, “No racing around the sofa, Jon Kay; just be extremely still and do not move!”

The normal BBC Breakfast meteorologist Carol Kirkwood was nowhere to be found as Sally introduced the weather.
Matt Taylor, a fellow weather presenter, filled in for the renowned Scottish personality and cautioned viewers of a cloudy morning in parts of the country.
Matt, 46, addressed Carol’s absence by stating, “This morning, I believe Carol ran off with a piece of sunshine in her luggage.”
