Bill was diagnosed in 2017 and has had exceptional medical treatment from the Royal Marsden and Ipswich Hospitals, the St. Elizabeth Hospice, and his primary care physician. The encouragement he received from friends, coworkers, and well-wishers bolstered his resolve to remain optimistic. Bill was greatly comforted by the fact that so many more guys are now testing for this disease sooner.

Many will remember Bill as a brilliant broadcaster who brought warmth and wit into the homes of listeners on BBC Breakfast and Classic FM. He was also a Wycombe Wanderers supporter and aspiring beekeeper.

Bill was a wonderful husband and father to his three children; his family and friends will miss his ability to always make people laugh, as well as his generosity and love.
