Sadio Mane close to exiting Liverpool after agreeing on “personal terms” with Bayern Munich

Sadio Mane has agreed on personal terms with Bayern Munich for a three-year contract, with the Germans close to signing the Senegal winger for £34.6 million.

Following Liverpool’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, the 30-year-old notified Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp of his wish to leave the club at the end of the season.

Mane has a year left on his Liverpool contract and is looking for a fresh challenge, especially as he feels underpaid by his current contract.

Klopp was sympathetic to Mane’s wishes, but the Reds have turned down two offers from Bayern Munich for the Southampton winger, with the Reds demanding about £42 million.

Mane has now signed personal terms with Bayern for a three-year deal, according to Fabrizio Romano, while Bild reports that a cost of closer to £34.6m is close to being agreed.

Following the arrival of Darwin Nunez, the bid of £30 million plus £4.6 million in add-ons is expected to satisfy Liverpool.

The Uruguayan arrived at Anfield on Tuesday for an initial fee of £62 million.

Klopp sought a replacement for Mane before allowing him to leave.
