Kaizer Chiefs are apparently poised to make a harsh decision and cut relations with Khama Billiat.

The 32-year-old Zimbabwean came at Chiefs in 2018 but has yet to deliver consistent performances. That’s been down to either a lack of confidence or protracted spells on the sidelines. His Chiefs deal expires in June and the side has an option to extend it. Now, Billiat is out for the balance of the current campaign and the club has taken a dim view on that.
“The club are obviously worried that he is not helping the team because he spends more time in the medical centre than on the field,” claimed a source.
Last season, the team was intended to release him, but they held out hope that he would be able to play.
“They believed he could contribute to the club, particularly with (Arthur) Zwane taking charge, and that he would play the type of game that would suit him.
“But now that he’s been hurt again, I believe he’s done with the Chiefs. I do not anticipate his comeback next season. He added that the Chiefs intend to handle Billiat’s departure as professionally as possible so that it does not appear that they are dismissing him due to his injuries.
“They could simply let him go, as they have done with other players who have served the club well and won things,” but his situation makes it tough. The coaches like him, but the injuries are an issue,” said the insider.
