This past Wednesday afternoon, a pleasant sunny summer day in the suburbs became the dramatic climax of a police chase.
A black SUV turns a bend and then flips over again as it hurtles to the front yard of a residence in Rochester, New York, according to video captured by a Ring doorbell camera.
With sirens blasting, multiple police vehicles hurry toward the crashed vehicle.
Shortly as the cops arrive, two suspects emerge from the car at the same time, smashing the shattered windscreen and attempting to flee the scene.
Javar Marshall, 21, and Nasir Schifano, 19, are convicted offenders, according to a statement from the Rochester Police Department.
Despite being prohibited from owning weapons due to previous, undisclosed felony charges, they were said to have had two guns in the car with them at the time of the smash.
One of the males is tackled by a uniformed cop, while the other flees the scene while being pursued by many cops.
The officers in the video are shown with their firearms drawn, as well as a canine unit.

‘It looked like a movie, like a scene from a movie,’ said Sean Irizarry, a resident of the property where the crash occurred, who was just returning home from work when it all went down.
‘I heard some screeching, so I knew it was a car accident, so I raced to the front of the driveway, and that’s when I (saw) the car roll over right in front of the driveway,’ Irizarry recalled.
‘The police officers pulled up with their weapons drawn, and it made me want to — well, I just raced away,’ he continued.
According to the news release, state and local cops attempted to stop the couple approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the North Goodman Street and Central Park Avenue neighborhood.
The chase began when the suspects failed to halt. The reason for the stop isn’t mentioned in the document, and there’s no indication the car was stolen.
Marshall and Schifano were sent to separate hospitals for minor injuries. They were apprehended without incident, according to authorities.
A search of the vehicle revealed two guns: a rifle loaded with 30 bullets and a 9mm Ruger with eight shots.
On June 16, both were arrested and taken into the Monroe County Jail in Rochester. Two counts of felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree have been filed against them.
In Rochester, gun violence is still a serious issue.
The number of homicides in the city increased from 52 in 2020 to 81 in 2021. In addition, 300 shootings occurred in the city last year.
Lovely Warren, the city’s previous mayor, proclaimed a state of emergency in November, citing “record levels” of gun violence.
According to the Rochester Beacon, a research indicated that Rochester has a higher rate of killings per 100,000 inhabitants than New York City, Washington, DC, and Chicago.
Malik Evans, the city’s Democratic mayor, revealed a new plan to help reduce crime in April 2022.
The Rochester Peace Collective is aiming to increase funding for organizations that already work in high-crime areas.
‘The worrisome spike in violence here and across the country needs bold and immediate action,’ the mayor said at the program’s debut.
