Roads in Kruger National Park are CLOSED RIGHT NOW because of the heavy rain

Several roads have been stopped due to severe rainfall in and around the southern portion of Kruger National Park (KNP).

Thursday, South African National Parks (SANParks) recommended visitors to avoid gravel roads and stick to asphalt.

“Guests are advised not to open or travel on any roads that have been closed and not to cross any low water bridges due to the high risk of being swept away.”

According to SANParks, due to the flooding of the Crocodile River, visitors cannot reach the Crocodile Bridge Gate and the Malelane Gate, and several other bridges are now flooded.

“Rain is still predicted for today, therefore caution should always be exercised on the roads. When information changes, SANParks will continue to send updates to the SANParks – Kruger National Park Facebook group.

In addition, SANParks stated that customers who need to postpone their reservation during the duration of the flooding would be given the option of an immediate date change or a credit to be used later.
