RIP: ’24’ star Annie Wersching dies at 45

Annie Wersching passed away at age 45.

The actress, best known for her portrayal as FBI agent Renee Walker in the television series ’24,’ died of cancer on Sunday morning in Los Angeles.

She was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, but maintained her her career with important roles in “The Rookie” and “Star Trek: Picard.”

The husband of Wersching, actor Stephen Full, released the following statement: “There is a gaping hole in the soul of this family today. However, she gave us the means to fill it. She discovered awe in the simplest of moments. She did not need music in order to dance. She taught us to seek out adventure on our own. “Go locate it. It is pervasive.’ And locate it shall we.

“As I drove our sons, the true loves of her life, down the winding road and street, she would cry BYE! until we were out of her hearing range and into the world. Still, I can hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie. “I love you, small family…”

’24’ director and producer Jon Cassar also paid tribute to the actress.

“My heart is in more pieces than I can count,” he remarked. Annie entered my life with an open heart and a smile that was contagious. She was so talented that it stole my breath away. Annie became more than a coworker; she became a true friend to me, my family, and all cast and crew members with whom she worked. She will be much missed by them and by the fans with whom she always made time to communicate. Annie, you will be greatly missed; you left your imprint, and we are all better for it.
