Return of Ultra South Africa scheduled for March 2023

Ultra South Africa, perhaps the continent’s largest electronic music festival, is scheduled to return to the local festival circuit in March 2023, following a three-year gap due to the coronavirus outbreak.

A press release released to IOL Entertainment by Ultra stated, “It’s been three long years without dancing outside, laughing out loud, appreciating life and singing songs on some of the world’s top festival dance floors.”

“Three years without world-class international DJs, Ultra Angels, over-the-top fireworks and pyro, and only these three-year-old epic memories to keep us going. But no longer. ULTRA South Africa returns to remind us why no other festival brand compares.”

Overseas, Ultra has already returned without incident, with the global Ultra Music Festival selling out in record time and a number of Ultra Europe crowds surpassing attendance records. Ultra Japan and Ultra Korea have also announced their respective comeback.

In 2020, 50 000 screaming fans gathered for the one-day extravaganza at Ultra South Africa. Ultra South Africa’s inaugural event at its brand-new home at the Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town will take place during the March 10 edition of the festival (Hollywoodbets, Kenilworth).

“The largest electronic music festival in South Africa will return in 2023 CPT Kenilworth Racecourse on March 10th. Saturday, March 11 – JHB’s Expo Centre, Nasrec. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 23 exclusively at UltraSouthAfrica.com #UltraSA2023 sponsored by #SmirnoffStorm,” Ultra South Africa tweeted.
