However, Andrew Crisp, Victoria’s emergency management commissioner, has warned that the state’s flood risk will persist beyond today and even this weekend.

The state is witnessing a ‘campaign flood event,’ he told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell, so “we’re in this for a while.”

“Another low is forming, so we’ll likely experience this weather next Wednesday/Thursday,” he informed Mitchell.
