Republicans blast Biden for repeating false assertions

In his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, Joe Biden praised his economic achievements, expressed his hope for the future, and pleaded with Republicans to cooperate.

However, many Republicans argued that several of the assertions he made in his address were unfounded.

Sen. Eric Schmitt of Missouri stated, “I believe that was a state of illusion, not a State of the Union address.”

The good news is that we will stop every crisis, tragedy, and disaster that Joe Biden has started, said Donald Trump.

“I’m running for president to stop the devastation of our nation and finish the unfinished work of Making America Great Again,” I declare.

Here are a few of Biden’s false statements.

We have produced a record 12 million new jobs as of this moment, which is more than any president has ever done in four years.

Indeed, 12 million additional jobs have been generated by Biden, but typically, employment creation is not assessed over a two-year period.

Bill Clinton generated 18.6 million during the course of his two administrations, while Ronald Reagan generated 16.5 million.

Additionally, Fox News analysts discovered that throughout a four-year span, from 1996 and 2000 (between Clinton’s first and second mandates), more than 12.4 million jobs were created.

The average number of jobs produced by Biden each month is little over 500,000, which is more than double the pace of Clinton, his closest rival.

He did, however, gain from the post-pandemic rebound, and he still has time to fall.

Presidents are more likely to experience an economic slump the longer they in office. Additionally, presidents’ job-creation statistics are hampered by the employment losses that occur during economic downturns.

“My government reduced the deficit by more than $1.7 trillion over the last two years, the biggest deficit reduction in American history.”

By comparing the deficits in fiscal years 2020 ($3.132 trillion) and 2022 ($1.375 trillion), Biden arrives at the number of $1.7 trillion.

The deficit has decreased significantly.

But there is also no background for it.

In contrast to the previous two years under Biden and the preceding administration of President Trump, Congress did not adopt another multi-trillion dollar stimulus program in 2022.

Some Republicans favor having Medicare and Social Security expire after five years rather than requiring the rich to pay their fair amount. That implies such programs will be discontinued if Congress doesn’t decide to preserve them.

Senator from Florida and head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee Rick Scott’s idea from the previous year is being referred to by Biden.

Every five years, Scott recommended “sunsetting,” or reevaluating, all government programs.

On page 38 of his 60-page “11-point plan to save America,” which included 128 recommendations, he said, “If a law is worth saving, Congress can adopt it again.”

Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell, the respective Republican leaders of the House and Senate, have both said that they have no plans to abolish Medicare and Social Security.

Scott himself denied having such as his goal.

But it hasn’t prevented it from turning into a talking topic for Democrats.

The notion that, in 2020, 55 of the largest American corporations generated $40 billion in earnings while paying no federal income taxes? That’s just not right.

This fact is often cited by Biden.

It’s not necessarily incorrect, but it’s also not totally true.

The amount is an estimate of taxes paid based on company reports rather than actual tax filings.

“While the virus is still present, the American people’s tenacity has allowed us to free ourselves from COVID’s control. COVID fatalities have decreased by over 90%.

Biden is right that the seven-day average of COVID fatalities has decreased by about 90% as of this week.

3,065 recorded fatalities occurred during the week of January 16–20, 2021.

Republicans tear into Biden's 'lies' as he repeats misleading claims

There were 472 last week, a decrease of 84%.

However, it is not the whole story since this year’s numbers have risen significantly from a low of 168 in late October.

Because of the pandemic’s impact on supply chains and Putin’s war’s impact on the availability of food and oil, inflation has become a worldwide issue. But we’re in a better situation than any nation on the planet. Although there is still work to be done, inflation in the country is declining.

Biden is correct that the disruption of supply lines and the Russian invasion of Ukraine have caused a sharp increase in global inflation.

However, some claim he exaggerates his contribution to untangling supply chains since corporations handled most of it on their own.

And in its most recent evaluation of G7 inflation, the OECD places the United States in the middle of the pack: Germany, the UK, and Italy are doing worse, while Canada, France, and Japan are doing better.
