Following speculation that her family was right-wing following her mother’s recent hoedown-themed 60th birthday party, Sydney Sweeney has blasted the “absurd” assertions.
Early on Saturday, the Euphoria actress, 24, posted photos from the themed party on her Instagram account. One of the photos showed a man partygoer who looked to be wearing a Blue Lives Matter shirt.
Guys, this is crazy. The Euphoria singer sent a statement on Twitter that said, “An innocent celebration for my mom’s milestone 60th birthday has morphed into an insane political statement, which was not the goal.”
“Stop forming assumptions, please. Happy Birthday Mom and lots of love to everyone, she said.

Following her mother’s recent hoedown-themed 60th birthday celebration, people started to wonder about her family’s political affiliations, which Sydney Sweeney has called “absurd.”
Many of Sweeney’s fans also noticed that numerous partygoers were sporting red hats that resembled the caps worn by Donald Trump’s supporters.
In a video the actress uploaded of herself dancing with her loved ones, the headgear was seen on many attendees.
Trent, the younger brother of the actress, posted a picture on his Instagram account earlier this week in which he was seen standing with two visitors who were wearing hats.
In the post’s description, he added a brief note and said that the caps read “Make Sixty Great Again,” an apparent allusion to his mother’s age.
The 24-year-old Euphoria actor posted pictures from the themed party on her Instagram early on Saturday. One of the pictures showed a male partygoer who looked to be wearing a Blue Lives Matter shirt.
They are there: This Monday, Trent, the actress’s younger brother, posted a picture of himself with two others donning caps to his Instagram account, writing, “The hats scream “Make Sixty Great Again”.”
“You guys, this is insane,” was said. The Euphoria actress claimed in a statement posted on Twitter that “an innocent party for my mom’s milestone 60th birthday has morphed into a ridiculous political statement, which was not the goal.”
Many of Sweeney’s followers responded to the information in her post on their different social media platforms.
In the post’s comments section, a member on Instagram questioned why the actress was “kicking it with individuals that are wearing blue lives matter gear.”
The supposed political leanings of the White Lotus actress’ family had allegedly been “exposed,” according to one commenter.
Another Twitter user said that it was “so, so odd” to share pictures of your family members “actually donning white supremacist regalia.”
