Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger shared a threatening letter mailed to his family and warned ‘there’s violence in the future.’

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican, posted a threatening letter addressed to his family on Sunday, warning that ‘violence is coming in the future.’

He claimed the letter was addressed to his wife, Sofia, and delivered to his residence. It was also aimed at their five-month-old son.

The Illinois congressman is one of two Republicans on the committee looking into the Capitol insurgency on January 6th. Former President Donald Trump has slammed the panel’s work on many occasions.

Kinzinger is accused of forsaking his country and ‘god-fearing families,’ according to the letter. When he joined the panel, the congressman disobeyed Republican leadership.

Kinzinger tweeted a photo of the letter, stating that its contents were “threaten[ing] the life of my family.” Christian Adam Kinzinger, the couple’s son, was born in January, according to the article.

‘That pimp you married sold his soul as well as breaking his pledge. ‘Yours and Christian’s as well,’ reads the letter.

‘He will be executed, albeit it may take some time.’ But don’t be concerned! The letter continued, ‘You and Christian will be joining Adam in hell as well!’

On Sunday, Kinzinger told ABC’s ‘This Week’ that he was not frightened for his own safety, but for the protection of his family.

‘Look, I’m not concerned about you. The threat that was received was mailed to my address. We only acquired it a few days ago, and it threatens to kill me, my wife, and our 5-month-old child. That’s something we’ve never seen or experienced before. ‘It came from the neighborhood,’ he explained.

He also expressed his dread of impending violence.

‘I don’t worry — but it’s a little different now that I have a wife and kids.’ There are those who — I’m going to tell you, there will be violence in the future. And we can’t expect anything different until we have a handle on telling them the truth,’ he said.

Kinzinger’s office has reported the threat, and they are “taking extra safeguards for the Congressman’s family,” according to a spokesman.

The number of threats made against members of Congress has increased.

The number of threats against politicians more than doubled from the previous year, according to the US Capitol Police. In 2020, the department stated it looked into around 9,000 potential concerns.

Members of Congress are permitted to spend campaign funds to pay for security for their houses, and this financing increased following Trump’s second impeachment trial.

The Federal Election Commission voted shortly after the January 6th uprising to allow members of Congress to hire personal bodyguards with campaign funds.
Kinzinger slammed Trump and the Republican leadership in an appearance with ABC on Sunday.

‘Unfortunately, my party has completely failed the American people when it comes to telling the truth.’ ‘It makes me sad, but it is the truth,’ he explained.

In the aftermath of the 2020 election, when Trump falsely claimed he had won and was the victim of voter fraud, Kinzinger said Trump knew exactly what he was doing.

He expressed concern regarding the year 2024. Trump has hinted that he would run for president again, but no formal announcement has been made.

‘America, wake up. ‘Wake up, Republicans, because this isn’t going to help you if you believe it will,’ Kinzinger added.
