Rapper GloRilla is heartbroken by the death of two women at her concert

Rapper GloRilla has expressed his grief and condolences after two women died and another was critically injured at a rap concert in New York on Sunday night.

The 23-year-old musician tweeted on Monday night, saying that he was devastated and heartbroken over the tragedy and that his fans meant the world to him.

He also added that he was praying for the families of the victims and for the speedy recovery of everyone affected.

GloRilla, who is from Tennessee, had performed at the Main Street Armory in Rochester when concertgoers believed they heard gunshots, causing a panic and a stampede.

However, police who arrived at the scene found no evidence of gunfire, and the injuries sustained by the victims were not consistent with gunshot wounds.

Three adults were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where Rhondesia Belton, a 33-year-old Buffalo woman, was pronounced dead.

Later, police announced that a 35-year-old woman had also died, and a third woman was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Seven other concert-goers were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Although there is no evidence of gunfire, police are investigating several possible causes of the fatal surge, including the crowd size, pepper spray, and other contributing factors.

Rochester Mayor Malik Evans called the fatal stampede “totally unacceptable” and promised to hold people accountable for what happened.

The tragic incident is reminiscent of the deadly stampede that occurred at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival in Houston on November 5, 2021, where ten concertgoers, including children, died, and hundreds were injured.
