Joo Lourenço and the people of the Republic of Angola have received congratulations from President Cyril Ramaphosa on his reelection as head of state.
Joo Lourenço, the president of Angola, was granted a second term after his MPLA party was named the victor in the nation’s election on Monday.
President Ramaphosa expressed his heartfelt congratulations and said the election results showed how much the Angolan people believe in him.
The president of South Africa, President Ramaphosa, said, “I am looking forward to working with President Joo Lourenço to strengthen the strong and cordial bilateral relations between our two countries, as well as in matters of mutual interest in the African continent and our region, the Southern African Development Community (SADC).”
The fact that the elections were held in a peaceful setting and that the Angolan people used their democratic right to choose their own government also fills President Ramaphosa with great joy, he said.
