RAF Eurofighter Typhoon will return to Swansea’s Wales Airshow this summer, first time since 2019

The Royal Air Force (RAF) Eurofighter Typhoon will be returning to Swansea’s Wales Airshow this summer, after missing the event in 2022. The announcement comes shortly after the confirmation that the Red Arrows will also be performing at the event on July 1 and 2.

The Swansea Council has worked hard to ensure that the Typhoon will make an appearance on both days of the airshow, along with several other displays, virtual reality experiences, and live music.

The Eurofighter Typhoon was a popular attraction at the airshow before the pandemic, and its absence last year was greatly felt by the public. The Council’s cabinet member, Robert Francis-Davies, said that the Typhoon was “a huge draw,” and that they are delighted that it will be flying over Swansea again this summer.

According to the police, the RAF Typhoon Display Team will be joined by other stars of the skies during the airshow. Families will also be able to enjoy various fun activities, including displays, virtual reality experiences, and live music.

The Wales Airshow returned last year after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it proved to be a massive success with thousands of visitors.

The Council is grateful to the businesses and residents who were patient with the necessary road closures and the traders and sponsors who contributed to the show’s ongoing success.

The event is an essential part of Swansea’s cultural and economic growth, and it contributes millions of pounds to the local economy.
