Putin was born in the St. Petersburg neighborhood of Smolninskoye, whose councillors made the remarkable petition to the Russian parliament.

The councillors complained that Putin's war in Ukraine has left thousands of Russian soldiers dead and damaged the country's economy

The councillors said, “Young able-bodied citizens are dying and being disfigured.”

Due to Putin’s reckless policies, the Russian economy is suffering, NATO is expanding, and Ukraine is receiving new, advanced equipment, they claimed.Ukrainian servicemen riding a BTR amphibious armoured personnel carrier (APC) drive out of Bakhmut, as Russia's attack on Ukraine continues, in Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine, on Wednesday

Nikita Yuferev, a 34-year-old municipal councilman, stated, “We have enumerated the reasons why we believe this constitutes high treason.”

Over the crisis in Ukraine, councillors in Vladimir Putin’s hometown have demanded that he be punished with treason and removed from office.

The council members from Smolninskoye, the St. Petersburg neighborhood where Putin was born, made the remarkable request to the Russian parliament.

The councillors stated that Russians must realize that the territorial boundary between Russia and NATO has doubled as a result of Putin’s activities.

Since Putin’s invasion of Ukraine began six months ago, his forces have sustained tremendous casualties in personnel and equipment while being battled to a virtual standstill while occupying around one-fifth of the country.

Precision strikes conducted by Ukrainian forces armed with high-tech Western weapons are eroding Russia’s ability to fight, and Moscow is reverting to antiquated weaponry as its stockpiles of more advanced equipment deplete.

Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported ‘excellent news’ from the eastern Ukrainian battlefields, stating that his forces had recaptured several towns and villages from Russia.

Putin’s war ‘harms the security of Russia and its inhabitants,’ said 35-year-old Dmitry Palyuga, who supported the call for Putin to be prosecuted with treason over the Ukraine conflict.

Palyuga told The Insider, “One of the Russian president’s stated aims is to demilitarize Ukraine, but we see the exact opposite occurring.”

As Russia’s onslaught on Ukraine continues, Ukrainian soldiers on a BTR amphibious armored personnel carrier (APC) drive out of Bakhmut on Wednesday in Donetsk area, eastern Ukraine.

The councillors complained that Putin’s war in Ukraine has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Russian soldiers and harmed the economy of Russia.

Not that we totally embrace the goals announced by President Putin, but only with his words, he endangers the security of the Russian Federation.

“We want to demonstrate to the public that there are [democratic representatives] who oppose the current trajectory and believe Putin is causing harm to Russia.

We want to demonstrate that we are not frightened to discuss it.

Local leaders realize their request has no chance of success in the State Duma, the lower chamber of parliament controlled by Putin’s lackeys.

Nevertheless, they have continued with the demand.

Yuferev stated, “It is essential to demonstrate that there are individuals who oppose the war.”

“We are in Russia, and there are quite a few of us,” he explained.

Ten of the twenty councillors present voted in favor of the treason charge against Putin, meeting the quorum requirements.

There were seven affirmative votes and three abstentions.

The councilmembers’ proposal that Putin be charged with treason for his war in Ukraine is a rare instance of explicit opposition to the conflict. Many critics of Putin’s incursion have perished under strange circumstances.

The head of a Russian oil business who supported Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was found dead in strange circumstances after falling from a sixth-floor hospital window in Moscow last week.

Ravil Maganov, the 67-year-old chairman of the Russian oil firm Lukoil, died instantly after falling from a window on the sixth story of Moscow’s Central Clinical Hospital at approximately 7:30 a.m. local time on September 1.

Ravil Maganov, the 67-year-old head of the Russian oil firm LUKOIL (shown with Putin after receiving a medal), died instantly after jumping from a window on the sixth floor of the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow at approximately 7:30 a.m. local time on September 1.

However, law enforcement officials stated there was no suicide note and no CCTV cameras on the section of the structure from where Maganov fell.

Maganov’s Lukoil was one of the few large Russian corporations to urge for an end to combat in Ukraine after Moscow’s invasion.

In a statement issued in the days following the invasion, the Lukoil board demanded a “rapid” halt to the combat and extended their condolences to everyone impacted by the “tragedy.”

And seven months later, Maganov has been found dead after falling from the hospital window.

In recent months, a number of high-ranking Russian officials have died under dubious circumstances, with many mysteriously falling out of windows.

Maganov is the latest Russian oil magnate to be assassinated under dubious circumstances.

In May, 43-year-old billionaire Alexander Subbotin, a former senior executive for the energy firm Lukoil, was discovered dead under strange circumstances.

The billionaire, who owned a prosperous shipping firm, was purportedly treated with toad venom, which was injected into a skin incision.

Subbotin then experienced a heart attack and was given a valerian-based tranquilizer.
