A pro-Putin spin doctor who famously waved the skull of a ‘killed Ukrainian’ fighter on stage during a horrifying prank has been shot to death today.
Igor Mangushev, 36, had been hospitalized for several days with life-threatening injuries following what his wife claimed was an attempt at murder on Russian-held territory.
On February 4, around 6 a.m., he succumbed to wounds inflicted in a gunshot for which no motive has been determined.
The nefarious ultranationalist activist and propagandist-turned-warrior was captured on video in August brandishing the alleged skull of an Azov fighter and proclaiming, “We’re alive and he’s already dead”
Let him perish in hell’ He was unfortunate. We will fashion a goblet from his skull.’
The shooting of Mangushev – also known as Bereg – has been seen as a warning to his ‘partner’ Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of Wagner’s private army and one of Vladimir Putin’s closest associates.
This hypothesis of a ‘proxy attack’ was proposed by eminent Russian specialist Mark Galeotti, who stated, ‘I believe it’s safe to call this a success.’
He stated, “This could be a warning, the removal of a pawn, or a sign that Mr. Prigozhin’s more ruthless rivals believe he is sufficiently weakened for them to move.”
There was no early evidence that Mangushev was killed in retaliation by Ukraine.
Today, a Ukrainian insider told US Insider, “Remember the sadist Mangushev, who performed with the skull of a slain Ukrainian soldier from Mariupol?”
‘So, he died. And they shot him in the head with their own bullet.
This did not occur near the front, but Mangushev has recently partnered with Prigozhin and Wagner PMC.
Mangushev’s wife Tatiana Azarevich tweeted a video over the weekend stating that he had been killed at close range away from the battlefield.
She asserted that he did not receive sufficient medical care and that the Russian government did not investigate the shooting.
Doctors informed her that the shot had been fired at close range, at a 45-degree angle to the back of the skull, and from top to bottom.
She stated that it was “attempted murder” or a “execution.”
She refuted reports that he was a member of the Wagner force, commanded by Prigozhin, but serving in the regular Russian army.
She stated, “He is an active member of the Russian Army and the captain of the 4th Brigade of the 2nd Army Corps of the 8th Russian Army.”
A November video shows the couple on vacation in Lebanon.
Mangushev, aged 36, was the leader of a pro-Russian political outfit with ties to the FSB.
In his insane diatribe in August, Mangushev posed the question, “Why can’t there be reconciliation?”
‘Ukraine must be de-Ukrainized. The Novorossiya territory must be returned to Russia.
We are not at war with flesh-and-blood individuals. We are at war with a concept — the notion of Ukraine as an anti-Russian state.
Mangushev publicly advocated for the murder of civilians on his Telegram channel.
“We will burn your homes, murder your families, and raise your children as Russians,” he wrote.
