Putin calls Ukrainian hit on Bryansk region a terrorist act

Russian President Vladimir Putin has labeled the attacks carried out by the Ukrainians on March 2 in the Bryansk region of Russia as a terrorist act.

Putin condemned the attack and accused the perpetrators of trying to erase Russian history, traditions, and language. According to Putin, the saboteurs crossed the border and fired on civilians, including children, who were traveling in a car.

The attack occurred on March 2 when a group of Ukrainian entered the territory of the Russian region bordering Ukraine in the village of Lubechane.

The governor of Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that a local resident was killed, and a child was injured. However, he later clarified that the victim was a car driver, and the passenger, a boy, was wounded. The boy received medical assistance at the Bryansk regional hospital and is expected to recover.

After the incident, Putin canceled his trip to the Stavropol region and remained in the Kremlin. He received updates on the situation in the Bryansk region from FSB chief Alexander Bortnikov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, and the head of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed this. Putin condemned the attack and promised a firm response against the perpetrators.
