PSL transfer window losers – Kaizer Chiefs, Gallants

South Africa’s winter transfer season is now officially closed, and many people lost out because they didn’t do it correctly.

The South African website criticises some of the PSL players that lost out during the most recent transfer window, which closed on Thursday, September 22.

THE KAIZER CHIEFS

Kaizer Chiefs got off to a good start during the transfer period, managing to get rid of almost every player they wouldn’t need for this campaign.

A staggering 13 players, including Bernard Parker, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Samir Nurkovic, Lazarous Kambole, and Daniel Akpeyi, were released by Amakhosi.

The bulk of their supporters were pleased with the addition of Siyethemba Sithebe, Ashley du Preez, and Zitha Kwinika, among others.

Even while some might argue that Chiefs had a great transfer window overall, their inability to get their desired targets renders them losers.

First off, Sipho Mbule was not signed by Chiefs, and Terrence Mashego and Victor Letsoalo were signed before them.

Letsoalo transferred to Sekhukhune United, while Mbule and Mashego both joined Sundowns from SuperSport United and Cape Town City, respectively.

Even though Chiefs seemed to be extremely thin up front with just Du Preez and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana as their sole attackers, Kermit Erasmus also made himself available, but no transfer was made.

GALLANTS MARUMO

Miguel Timm and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, two of Marumo Gallants’ important players, were traded to Orlando Pirates.

This squad is competing in the CAF Confederation Cup after making consecutive Nedbank Cup final appearances.

Gallants will undoubtedly miss the two players this season, particularly given how slowly they have gotten out to a start this year.

Worryingly, they haven’t really been able to succeed Timm and Ndlondlo, so they’ll have to search inside for answers.

SLOUGHS FC

Chiefs attacked Swallows FC and recruited not one but three players from them, including George Matlou, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, and Dillan Solomons.

As a result of being unable to attract players with comparable skills, Ruzaigh Gamildien and Kethukuthula Ndlovu both departed for Royal AM, leaving Swallows without any depth.

The manner Promise Mkhuma and Nicholus Lukhubeni have begun the season shows that getting them on loan from Sundowns wasn’t sufficient.

Given that the Swallows have had trouble getting results in their first eight games of the season, Dylan Kerr’s dismissal is evidence of that.
