Former Kaizer Chiefs target Kobamelo Kodisang will NOT leave Europe for the PSL because he sees his future elsewhere.

Kodisang was on the verge of joining Chiefs in the last transfer window, but the team and his parent club, SC Braga, couldn’t agree on a fee.

Kodisang is now playing for Moreirense in the Portuguese second level, but according to his agent Mike Makaab, he could be playing in the top flight next season.

Furthermore, Makaab stated that there is no chance Kodisang will return to the PSL, especially given how highly Moreirense regard him.

Moreirense have an option to buy Kodisang, the club’s leading striker with six goals in 13 games, according to Makaab.

As things stand, the Chiefs look to be more interested in signing a centre-forward or two than a winger in order to relieve the strain on Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.

TARGET RULES OUT PSL RETURN BY EX-KAIZER CHIEFS
“Of sure, there was a real chance with Chiefs; it’s only that the two teams [Braga and Chiefs] couldn’t agree on the transfer fee,” Makaab told SABC Sport.

“It’s a football fact. If the selling and buying clubs cannot reach an agreement because they have different levels of value connected to the player, one must recognize that this is how football works. Is he returning to South Africa? No.”

“They have an option on his permanent services and we are very certain that barring any disasters, that will be the case at the end of the season.

“Moreirense are heavily favored to win promotion and appear to be one of the two – Kodisang is their leading goal scorer from a wide position [six in 13 games], he is a talented player with a wonderful attitude and character,” Makaab explained.

“His future, we believe, is now firmly in Europe, and there’s every potential he’ll play in the top flight in Portugal next season.”
